SWITCH INFINITY UTILIZES A PATENTED TRANSLATING PIVOT

Switch Infinity utilizes a patented translating pivot that switches direction as the bike moves through its travel. This provides excellent anti-squat characteristics for superior pedaling performance and ideal suspension characteristics as it gets deeper into the travel.

BALANCED GEOMETRY, FROM OPTIMAL CHAINSTAY LENGTH TO PRECISE MECHANICAL TRAIL.

The SB5.5's 17.2 inch chainstays aren't super-short by today's standards, but that's exactly the point. Our testers wanted some torsional flex so the bike handled off-camber descents better. We were able to achieve this by right sizing our chainstays and optimizing the carbon layup to allow rear wheel to track on gnarly terrain. To balance the bike’s front end, we chose to use a long travel 51mm offset fork combined with a 66.5 degree head angle. This allowed us to precisely tune the bike’s mechanical trail and wheelbase.

FOR 2018, IN COLLABORATION WITH FOX, WE REFINED THE SHOCK AIR VOLUME CONFIGURATION AND TUNE.

The Float DPX2 for the SB5.5 has more consistent damping with a revised oil path. On the trail, you will feel more mid-stroke support and less overdamped feeling. Additionally, the new shock design allows for compression and rebound to be tuned more independently.
